CONTRACT MANAGER

Job Responsibilities :
  • Prepare and review contract procedure to ensure its comprehensiveness and suitability always up to date.
  • Provide overall direction and leadership in management and implementation of department contract and project.
  • Prepare procurement/contracting strategy, including contracting method to be used, contract commercial issues and contracting schedule.
  • Manage the collection and preparation of Division reports on the projects contractual status highlighting its impact on cost and schedule.
  • Work closely with other division towards completion of critical action items affecting the project and provide advice on general issues and problems related to contracts administration.
  • Coordinate strategy for the negotiation during tender evaluation and negotiation for variations, extension of time and cost claims including the formation of negotiation team and negotiation/variation documentation.
  • Act as secretariat for Department in preparing the approval or recommendation proposal to President, Tender Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Manage the submission and acceptance of the contractor’s deliverables (e.g. performance bond, insurance, power of attorney, company incorporation papers, etc.)
  • Coordinate preparation and issuance of contractual documentation/certification including notice to proceed, delegation of powers of the Superintending Officer, certificate of acceptance (after test and commissioning), certificate of payments, and extension of time, completion/taking-over certificates, maintenance certificate, final account and final certificate.
  • Monitor the running of contract delays, non-performing contract as well as expiry date of the contract.

Requirements :
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering Discipline or Quantity Surveyor
  • At least 5 years of experience in Contract Management
  • Good written and oral communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English
  • Working knowledge of PC software and applications
  • Willing to work extra hours.
